Opportunities at ERS

Helping veterans and service members build careers in sales, field, and operations.

Launch your Career with SkillBridge at ERS

ERS proudly participates in the Department of Defense (DoD) SkillBridge Program, providing transitioning service members and veterans the opportunity to gain hands-on experience, professional mentorship, and industry-specific knowledge before leaving the military. As a corporate partner of the SkillBridge Program, ERS helps veterans apply their military training to real-world careers in engineering, field service, operations, and sales, allowing a smooth transition into high-demand civilian roles in mission-critical infrastructure, electrical systems, and technical operations.

The SkillBridge Program is a 120-day (17-week) structured training program designed to equip veterans and service members with the practical skills, certifications, and workplace experience needed to succeed in civilian careers.

Eligibility:

  • 180 days or fewer remaining before your date of separation
  • At least 180 continuous days of active service

Participants benefit from paid military leave, structured mentorship, and hands-on training, gaining insight into potential career paths at ERS, from NETA-certified technical positions to sales engineer and field service roles. By participating in SkillBridge at ERS, veterans gain professional development, industry experience, and a supportive environment that values the leadership and technical expertise they bring from military service.

Meet Our Veteran Team Members

Adam Jacks
Continuous Improvement Specialist
U.S. Marine Corps

“After 18 years in the Marine Corps leading infantry units in high-pressure environments, I developed a deep understanding of operational discipline and team leadership. I later earned a B.S. in Business Management, a Master’s in Operational Excellence from The Ohio State University, and my Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. I chose ERS because it allows me to apply that experience to real world problems, driving improvements through projects like our S&OP rollout and NFPA 70B documentation. I’m proud to be part of a team where performance, accountability, and continuous improvement are the standard.”

Mike Do
Sales Engineer
U.S. Army

"My military experience has helped me at my career at ERS because the military teaches you how to manage and work with people from different backgrounds. Although we have different roles and expertise, we are expected to come together and accomplish the mission. As a leader in the military, there are many transferrable skills that translate to the civilian world. I believe that one of the most invaluable skills is people management. In the service, we don’t typically get to select the people we work with. We work with who and what we are given. Similarly at ERS, as a Sales Engineer, I must problem solve with the resources I have available. I solve technical problems with our clients, but I also must solve problems with my team and find a way to get the job done. At ERS, our clients expect excellent service and timely communication. As an Officer in the military, I must be able to communicate clearly to my leadership and subordinates. In my role at ERS, I must do the same for my operations team and my clients."

Dennis Salzmann
Operations Director
U.S. Navy

"I spent ten years in the Navy as a Navy Nuclear Electrician on submarines and I've been with ERS now for twenty-four years. My time and technical training in the Navy transferred well into ERS as I started out as a Field Engineer. Then, I took the leadership skills I learned [in the military] to grow my career and become a service center manager and ultimately a director of operations. My time at ERS has been wonderful. I've gotten to meet a lot of great people and work in many different places. So, if you are looking for a [professional] home, ERS is a great place!"
